MODERNA - MODELO DE DESARROLLO ECONÓMICO DE NAVARRA

What is MODERNA?

MODERNA is a Strategic Plan to define a New Model of Economic Development for Navarre in the medium and long term.

Based on a process of strategic reflection about the potential of Navarre, and focusing specifically on people, the aim of this Plan is to provide a vision of how the Navarre of the future ought to be in order to tackle the challenges raised by the new conditions of the global economy in a knowledge based society.

Work began on this new Model of Economic Development for Navarre back in May 2008 with the challenge of transforming the Region into a knowledge society maintaining the weight of its industry and guaranteeing the sustainable generation of wealth in the long term in Navarre.

MODERNA will contain:

• A vision of how the Navarre of the future ought to be.
• The path that must be taken in order to reach this goal.
• The changes (sector specific and transversal) that must be undertaken.
• The innovative economic sectors that must be prioritised and supported.
• The initiatives and resources that must be allocated to its development.

This New Model, an initiative of Navarre’s Regional Government, will be created together as a collaborative endeavour between economic and social agents, Public Administrations, educational and research institutions, Technology Centres and society as a whole, including business networks, organisations and professional associations.
